Your backstage pass to Fashion for Paws 2009

The Washington Humane Society really knows how to throw a party! This year’s Fashion for Paws was held at the Italian Embassy and through the hard work of the WHS staff, fundraising models (through direct donations and ticket sales) and sponsors raised over $240,000.

I arrived at 6pm to start preparing for the festivities. I was immediately greeted by WHS volunteers who offered to help me with my Maltese, Lacy. Want to read more....check out the rest of the article on the Examiner.com

You can vote for Lacy as cutest pet on the runway here!

My article was also picked up by LocalKicks.com

Below are a few photos of Lacy and I getting ready for the show, then for the after party and lounging in the Fendi sponsored VIP Lounge!

Shelter Dogs go to the Movies

On Saturday January 31, I attended "Shelter Dogs go to the Movies" to benefit the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. The shelter partnered with Regal Cinemas at the Ballston Mall to hold this event in conjunction with the movie "Hotel for Dogs." Barkley Square Bakery, Karing by Kristina and Dogtopia were on hand to give movie goers dog treats to bring home as well as information on Pet Care.

Media for Sugar and Champagne

As the Sugar and Champagne Affair fast approaches (1.28.09 at the Ritz Carlton), we have had some great opportunities to showcase what we do at Karing by Kristina and Barkley Square.

On Sunday January 18th I was a guest on “Dishing It Out” a weekly radio show hosted by Nycci and David Nellis. I was interviewed along with Ellen Gray Of Equinox Restaurant (a new fave of the Obama’s) and Padua Player the Suga Chef. Click here to listen.

This morning both Kristina Robertson and I were on Fox 5 with Holly Morris. We filmed at Equinox Restaurant and were joined by several of the featured Chef’s that will be at Sugar and Champagne as well as some dogs from the Washington Humane Society. Haute Holidays for the Hounds

This past Sunday I attended "Haute Holidays for the Hounds" to benefit the Washington Humane Society. The event was held at Bloomingdales in Chevy Chase. For a donation of $15 participants were able to take a holiday photo with Santa or Frosty the Snowman.

The human participants were treated to cupcakes from Hello Cupcake and the Dogs were treated to Yummy treats from Barkley Square Bakery .

A Grooming Station to spruce up before the photos was provided by Karing by Kristina. The event was a great success and fun was had by all!
